The Bugatti Macaron is the traditional brand emblem of the French automobile manufacturer Bugatti and dates back to the early models of the 1920s and 1930s. The oval badge with its bright red background, 60 stylized white dots along the edge – a tribute to Ettore Bugatti's attention to detail – and the stylized lettering EB for Ettore Bugatti was already emblazoned on classics such as the Type 35 , the Type 41 "Royale," and the Type 57.
The term "macaron" is derived from the French word for the oval badge and was already a symbol of the highest engineering skill and elegance. Made of enameled metal, the emblem symbolized technical excellence, artistic design, and Italian-French heritage—all values that Bugatti has stood for since its inception. The historic macaron lives on in modern hypercars—now crafted from the finest materials, but its shape remains virtually unchanged since the glory days of the pre-war era.
