BMW R32

The BMW R32 was the first motorcycle launched by BMW in 1923 and laid the foundation for the brand's worldwide success. It was equipped with a 494 cc air-cooled boxer engine producing 8.5 hp and reaching a top speed of approximately 95 km/h. The most distinctive feature of the R32 was the transversely mounted boxer engine with shaft drive, which would become a hallmark of many BMW motorcycles.

The design of the R32 was simple yet innovative: a robust double-cradle frame and the combination of engine and transmission as a load-bearing unit. The BMW R32 set new standards in terms of reliability and ride comfort and is now an iconic model in the history of motorcycle construction.
