The BMW R90S was a legendary sports motorcycle produced between 1973 and 1976 and considered one of the first superbikes. It was equipped with an air-cooled 898 cc boxer engine producing 67 hp and enabling a top speed of approximately 200 km/h. The R90S was particularly known for its stability and reliability, setting new standards in the sport touring segment.
A distinctive feature of the R90S was its half-shell fairing, which not only improved aerodynamics but also influenced its design. It was also one of the first motorcycles to be equipped with dual front disc brakes as standard. The R90S won several races, including the first AMA Superbike Championship in 1976, and is now considered an icon in the history of motorcycle manufacturing.
