Mercedes 540K

The Mercedes-Benz 540K was a luxurious and powerful grand tourer produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1936 and 1940. It was the brand's flagship pre-war model and known for its elegant bodywork and impressive performance. The 540K was equipped with a 5.4-liter inline eight-cylinder engine producing approximately 115 hp without a supercharger and up to 180 hp with the Roots-type supercharger engaged (a push-button supercharger). This enabled a top speed of up to 170 km/h, which was exceptional for the time.

Available in various body styles, including coupes, convertibles, and roadsters, the 540K boasted an elaborate design, often built by specialized coachbuilders such as Sindelfingen.
