The MZ 1000 S was a sport motorcycle from the East German manufacturer MZ (Motorradwerk Zschopau), produced between 2004 and 2008. It was the most powerful production motorcycle MZ had ever built and marked the brand's attempt to break into the high-performance sports motorcycle segment. Equipped with a 999 cc inline twin-cylinder engine, the MZ 1000 S produced approximately 117 hp and reached a top speed of approximately 250 km/h.
The MZ 1000 S was known for its high level of stability and agility, supported by its lightweight tubular frame and sporty chassis. It offered advanced technology, including adjustable suspension and powerful brakes. Despite its impressive performance, its market share was limited due to fierce competition in the sport segment, but today it is considered an exotic and a unique chapter in MZ's history.
